Now more than ever, Americans are extending the lives of their vehicles by investing in maintenance and repair. They need qualified, computer-savvy technicians to support today's sophisticated automotive technology—which precisely describes the Tunex competitive edge.

While no business is recession proof, a recent study by Franchise Direct showed that automotive franchises are doing well in this economy as Americans increasingly rely on them to help keep their cars on the road.

To help customers plan their car care, Tunex centers now offer the Delphi diagnostic platform, which allows technicians to link wirelessly to a car and retrieve key performance data. Customers receive a color printout with green text for "good" findings and red for "warning" issues—things they should handle now or in the future. With these printouts, customers can track performance over time and plan to make repairs before problems become critical and costly.

Take it from retired franchise owner Ed Jemmett, who started with Tunex in 1984...

"There'll always be cars, and there will always be problems with cars. And if you feel like you can get into it for the right reasons, Tunex is a great company and they are a great support."
